La Pura Vida NC | Our Story

Pure Life, Right Here on South Elm

Pura Vida opened in April 2024 in a three-story building in the heart of downtown Greensboro, surrounded by some of the city's most popular restaurants. It's the "next generation" of Latin restaurant, one that offers a full array of cocktails and a Latin fusion menu that goes beyond the usual tacos, enchiladas and burritos. The concept blends two things most Latin spots keep separate: a full-service kitchen and a cocktail lounge. The cuisine is described as Latin American fusion with a twist of Japanese — a new generation of fun restaurant paired with a chilled vibe all in one. It's positioned to appeal to Hispanic and non-Hispanic diners alike, working as a daytime restaurant that transforms into more of a nightlife destination as the evening goes on
What Pura Vida Actually Means

What Pura Vida Actually Means

In Costa Rica, "pura vida" isn't just a greeting — it's a way of moving through the world. We borrowed it because nothing else came close to describing what we wanted this place to feel like.
A Corner Worth Showing Up For

A Corner Worth Showing Up For

We're on South Elm Street, steps from the International Civil Rights Center & Museum and the Tanger Center. This stretch of Greensboro carries real meaning, and we try to be worthy of it.
The Kitchen Does the Talking

The Kitchen Does the Talking

Latin-inspired and eclectic by instinct — our kitchen built its name on hand-crafted empanadas and lobster pasta that regulars keep coming back for.

Every drink is built to be as good as it looks — whether you're here for a pre-show round or settling in for the night.

Every Visit, a Small Celebration

What keeps people coming back is the feeling that something worth marking is happening here tonight. Elevated but never stiff, lively but never loud.
